I spent Thursday through Saturday at a women’s conference called Unleash Your Brave™, surrounded by incredible, supportive, and inspirational women.

And somewhere in the middle of that gorgeous ballroom, surrounded by women who were brave enough to pursue what was next, I realized something:

I’m ready for my next chapter.

If you had asked me a year ago if I ever dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur, I would have laughed.

I didn’t.

In fact, I would have told you, “Owning my own training company is something I never wanted to do.”

I was a corporate trainer. And I worked hard for that title.

At 37, I made a decision to change the direction of my career and ultimately, the path of my future. After more than a decade in claims, I had lost my motivation. I knew I wanted something different, but more importantly, I knew I wanted to do something that mattered to me.

I’ve always been drawn to helping professions. I mentored with other departments, went back to school, earned my graduate degree in Instructional Design, and eventually landed my first role in Learning & Development.

I wanted to help people succeed in their careers.

Fast forward five years.

I’m no longer just dreaming about what’s next.

Over the past seven months, I’ve been building J. Myrtle Training & Development Partners, developing my brand, and bringing my MYRTLE Model for Leading with Clarity to life.

And now, I’m taking another brave step.

I’m putting the work into words.

Over the next several months, I’m excited to begin sharing my story, the lessons I’ve learned along the way, and the framework I’ve created to help leaders create environments where people can thrive—not simply survive.

Maybe bravery doesn’t always look like making a giant leap.

Sometimes, it looks like finally giving yourself permission to step into something you never imagined for yourself.
