Creating environments where people can thrive—not just survive.
Welcome to the J.Myrtle Training blog!
I’m so glad you’re here.
J.Myrtle was created from a simple belief: people do their best work when they feel supported, understood, and clear about what is expected of them.
For too long, workplace training has focused on checking boxes—complete the course, pass the quiz, move on to the next thing. But meaningful development goes much deeper than that.
I’m passionate about helping leaders and organizations create environments where people can thrive rather than simply survive.
And there’s a reason I believe training can make such a difference: our brains are constantly responding to the environments around us.
Through neuroscience-backed training, we can better understand how stress, emotions, communication, expectations, psychological safety, and relationships influence the way people think, learn, communicate, and perform.
When we understand what is happening beneath the surface, we can begin to lead differently.
That might mean setting clearer expectations.
It might mean approaching a difficult conversation with curiosity instead of defensiveness.
It might mean recognizing when stress is getting in the way of learning or problem-solving.
Or it might simply mean creating a workplace where people know what success looks like—and feel supported in reaching it.
That is the heart of J.Myrtle.
My goal isn't to give leaders another checklist of things they should be doing. It’s to provide practical, research-informed tools that help people understand themselves, understand others, and ultimately lead with greater clarity.
Through this blog, I’ll share insights on leadership, neuroscience, communication, difficult conversations, emotional intelligence, workplace culture, and the everyday moments that can either help people flourish or leave them feeling like they're just trying to get through the day.
Because I believe leadership isn't just about getting results.
It's about creating the conditions that make great results possible.
So, welcome.
I hope you'll pull up a chair, stay awhile, and join me as we explore what it really means to lead with clarity, develop people with intention, and create environments where people can thrive.
I'm so glad you're here.
